Dragons of the Waterfalls by SeanFarnam Dragons of the Waterfalls by SeanFarnam
Oh, and this is just the really small version... The origional was in excess of 5000 pixels wide, and the PSD file is over 600 Mb... (those who don't know, that's HUGE... o.o' ) ...oh, and it took 15 minutes for my tiny laptop to save this thing each time... e.e; ...which got old...

Hope ye enjoy mah pathetic attempt at drawing nature...

;P

ANYway... This is what I've been drawing on over the past few days... I am EXHAUSTED right now, and must shut up and go to bed before I collapse on meh keyboard... =)

Cheers!

That's the size the photoshop file takes on mah hard drive, yep. xP I've never gone that big before... Most of my others aren't over 300 MB...

Beautiful man. Just awsome on the background and the dragon.

Dayamn!! Thats how big the file was?! The last time I drew a picture that big was back in late 06!!! Dayamn! And it took a while to save my files too because my computer is a 1999 edition custom =^_^=

Anyways, good job

xDDDD 1999... I remember that year... A long time ago though... :P Mah laptop is a 2003... I work the poor thing nearly to death, and it makes me wonder just how much longer it's gonna keep kickin' ass 'till it drops dead. xD It's about the size of a piece of paper, and the thickness of the diameter of a quarter, so it's a tiny little bugger... Still, it puts up with a hell of a lot of abuse... It's "well loved"... =)

Lol dayamn! my laptop that i did my earlier PS and GIMP drawings where on a laptop that was the size of a piece of paper, a screen about smaller than 800X600 pixels, and was 4 inches thick, weighed 10 pounds, and i crashed it 3 times doing my art on it. The hardrive finally gave out on me and the thing overheated so now i cant use it XDD But its a piece of junk, only 5 gigs of memory and all the others are so low that its embarrasing. Its also slow xDD but this one was a 1999 piece as well. Piece of shit is what it is lmao.

This computer puts up with alot of crap too. Once again, I crashed this one plenty of times to hold a world record (hell i wish!!) It barely holds up to my art, but it gets the job done =^_^=

Hahaha, I remember computers like that... xD My old C800 is about 2 in thick, and it's slow as molasses compared to my newer comps... :P It was pretty fast for its day, but we've since moved on. X)

I've never had a computer crash on me, I'm proud to say... It happens all the time to my parents, but I guess I take good care of my comps... ^^' My mac has yet to give me one major error message... ...and I've had it for over a year now (and what's scary is I already need a new one... o.o).

At this point, I'm a mac guy... xD Vista scares me. o.o

Hahaha, i cant go mac yet. My compy cant take it. Hell it can hardly take XP lol. Vista is being rejected like a red headed step child (joke) because it has so many screw ups that people are going back to XP where its safe. Owell. I like my XP for now. When I get a new compy and a new MP3 player i might get a mac. I heard that leopard (i think thats the new update) is great with very few kinks in it. Thats good.

I like my Zune though!!! It kicks Ipod in the ass i think. Buuut owell, its basically personal preference. But if i am going mac then i cant use zune cause its only used for windows. Ouch. But owell.

Oh, and I am saving up for the Wacom Cintiq.... and your prolly thinking *Damn Cy why the hell?* well, my current tablet hurts my wrist. I cant move on now because I cant use my tablet, and the pencils hurt my hands even with grips. So i am at a loss until i can go to my hand surgeon on Dec. 3rd. Maybe i can have some luck there....

X) Good luck with the hand and all... Hope it all goes well for ye...

Yeah, I've heard leopard's pretty good, even with the kinks... xD But I haven't moved over yet... There's a lot of equipment I wanna buy, but dun have the money for... =P Kinda sux. My mac runs rings around most comps, but when it comes to 3D rendering, I still need a really powerful computer to do it... I'm trying to get my hands on as many macs as I can, and I'll custom-build a cluster server with xgrid, and that'll give me CPU speeds through the roof... |D

As for vista, yeah, I dun like it either. =P It's just... ...well, it's windows. Even linux is better than that to me... xDDD

I just finished updating my current 3D server box, and it's got a new release of linux on it... So far so good. I've got software on my mac where I can control it through the wireless internet, so I can run it without a monitor, keyboard, and mouse... Pretty cool stuff. When I do that, you'd never know I had mac OS X on my comp... You'd think I was runnin' linux! xD Hopefully within the next few days, I'll find a hard drive, and put it in my second box, and get that one running as well... =P

If you've never seen my setup on a busy day... xD

Yes, it's a mess. :P ...but I'm proud of it. X)

Gooood God!!! I wish i had a setup like that, it would make my life happy because i know i would be able to do everything i could ever want. Damn, i got one box, one 15 inch monitor *flatscreen) a mouse, keyboard, desk, tablet, old speakers, aannd thats about it. Ill send ya a pic of my setup once i get my camera working. It makes your setup look like something you would find in the pentagon =^_^=

But yeah, it gets my artwork done, and its slow as shit too, buut owell. I dont think that i can reach my full potential on this box though. Once i get me that Wacom Cintiq and that Viper box, i can hook that up to my 35 inch TV and my 300 doller sterio system. Then i might be a little happier =^_^= Then, I could get me that 160 gig ipod and use it as an entertainment piece and as an external harddrive. Hmm... i wonder how that would work out......

Heheheheh, dude, I'd love that too, but dun put too much money into it... It'll all be obsolete before too long... Not all of the equipment I own is brand new, ya know... =P Most of it is a few years old... ...bought used, natch. From left to right, I've got the old C800 Dell laptop, the monitor's hooked up to one of my rendering servers, I have the auxiliary rendering server next to it, but it's not hooked up to any monitors... (both boxes not in the pic) There's my G4 powerbook (12 inch), and then an IBM R40 laptop on the right. =P Most of it is rigged with networking ATM... I also have my mom's G4 laptop (a 15 inch) when I need extra power (and when she's willing the let me use it... xP)...

Yeah, not a bad setup... ...but if you've got dreams like I have, this isn't enough. Take a look at this:

[link]

That's a picture of a real life rendering server... They're HUGE. Most contain AT LEAST 300 networked server boxes combining their horsepower into one gigantic rendering beast. o.o And I'm told that the Transformers movie took 38 hours to render just one FRAME... ...and if it was on a server like that, I cannot imagine... o.o;

It's absolutely ridiculous... o.O; The AC bill alone is ridiculous... e.e;

Believe me, I'm crazy enough to have already looked into what it would cost me to build something like that... I looked up what it would cost me to build a customized server box, and it would cost over $40,000 EACH to have them the way I want them... o.o *coughs* ...and then there's the over 300 of those deal... >.>;

Uhm... Ya.

When I'm a MILLIONARE, maybe... ^^;

...I'll buy that along with mah 747 and lamborghini... =D *daydreams*

Meanwhile, I'm stuck here looking at my wimpy setup and drooling over Pixar's... =P Still, I built most of that on my own... Which isn't easy, even when you know a little about comps... xP (hell, if you're computer saavy, try linux... o.o ...you'll see what I mean...)

Dude, I wish ye luck with your stuff... Hope ye can make those dreams happen. I think just realizing a dream is enough to make ye happy... =)
